Dr. Ruben Boyajian is a strong supporter of the Effingham community and is involved in several local projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in the area.
Gingerbread Creations
Dr. Boyajian has become famous for his gingerbread creations. For over 20 years, he and his family have created scale replicas in gingerbread that are publicly displayed during the Christmas Season. Subject matter have included National Landmarks, such as The White House (acknowledged by President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura); as well as local landmarks, such as the Historic Effingham County Court House. His good friend, Ed Baumgarten lends a helping hand to the projects by developing accurate blueprints and by capturing the final creations through skillful photography.
The Effingham Performance Center
The Effingham Performance Center is a 1,500 seat, state-of-the-art venue that welcomes national, regional, and local performers each season and hosts a wide variety of shows, including country, rock, contemporary, comedy, dance, bluegrass, family events, and much more. Past performers include B.B. King, Sara Evans, Tim Conway, Larry the Cable Guy, Lee Greenwood, Steve Martin, Bret Michaels, Jack Hannah, Kenny Rogers, REO Speedwagon, and many others.

The Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association
This wonderful organization promotes interpretive culture and history as a means to increase public awareness of the history of Effingham County and the National Road. Dr. Boyjian is a member of the association’s Board of Directors.
